Developer breaks ground on upscale multifamily project in Haddam

Construction is underway on a new 56-unit multifamily community in Haddam, with a projected opening in the winter of 2022.

The developer, Elm Tree Communities of Old Saybrook, announced this past week that it had broken ground on the project, dubbed “Blueway Commons.”

Construction officially began on a new multi-family apartment complex just off of Saybrook Road in Haddam Friday after a ground-breaking ceremony.

The apartment community, officially named Blueway Commons, was proposed about a year ago by developer Jeff Hartmann, president and co-founder of Elm Tree Communities.

Elm Tree Communities today announced that it has broken ground on Blueway Commons, an upscale, 56-unit multifamily community in Haddam, Connecticut. Blueway Commons will consist of three two-story buildings and a state-of-the-art resident clubhouse. The project is slated to open in the winter of 2022, with preleasing to begin in the summer of 2022.

Former Mohegan Sun CEO to Build First Multifamily Housing Complex in Haddam

A 56-unit, market-rate apartment complex will become the first multifamily housing project in Haddam next year, after receiving approval from the town planning and zoning commission last Thursday. The Haddam Planning and Zoning Committee unanimously approved a site plan for a 56 unit apartment complex at 1564 Saybrook Road and 3 Brookes Court, near Bridge Street.
